Parents..too much is just dangerous

Have you found yourself saying, “Urgh, this new generation is just so entitled“…

I’m a parent, and looking at what our kids have available to them is just well, next level.

And I don’t know about you, but I am doing my best to parent and with this technology business..well far out, it is touch times.

Click Here to see what Simon Sinek has to say about how we are raising our kids these days!

Oh and because of this, I decided to come off social media for a while. And I have to say, the impact has been profound! I don’t know if I am going back…

Hang in there for what Simon says about getting likes on FB and being ‘unfriended’ and what happens in our brain! Dopamine hits. Highly, highly additive!

Anyone else resonate with the addiction and numbing we find in FB and alcohol?

Smorgasbord #1

Personal growth and wellbeing tools are one of my loves.

I love the smorgasbord of options available to all of us to increase our sense of purpose and support living a meaningful life. Opportunities to taste experiences and wisdom that might connect with me and that I might be able to share with others.

So, I kinda just felt like sharing some of my most fave resources with you.

I don’t consider myself a teacher, despite recently thinking I kinda fit that role.

I consider myself more of a seeker. As someone who seeks stuff out that is of interest that might useful to improve the quality of my life, and then, well pass that on.

I am not affiliated with any of the groups or authors or other things I highlight. Purely just for the love of sharing.

Seeker to seeker.

I am sure that along your seeking path you have come across so many amazing resources as well, and I’d love for you to share them with me too.

I’ll break it up into categories for easier reference.

Books are like my friends. Wise friends who are willing to share their stories and wisdom and who are really, really quiet. Friends that I can shut up without offending. Friends that don’t fight. And friends that make me smile and let me feel like I am not alone in this thing called life. I carry them with me wherever I go.

I’ll introduce you to a few friends now. I want to share many of them, but for now, a little chunk might be better to digest than a big arse 25 course meal.

This One is for the Transitionaries…

I don’t know about you, but I have been feeling this weird ‘transitionary’ kind of vibe in the air.

I’m not sure if it the folks that I am speaking to, or the stuff I am reading on line, or if I am just tuned into how me and my hubby are feeling at the moment.

Perhaps it is spring, or the moon, or the butterfly flapping in Brazil. Oooo, that butterfly thing again..#insidejokeforsoulcollectives

Whatever it is, this is what I am feeling. And from years of doing this human thing, I have come to see if I am feeling it, then at least one other is too.

And perhaps it is you.

If it is you, then this is for you.

63 Days & Not What I Expected….

9 weeks.

63 days since I have had a drink of alcohol.

*the crowd cheers*

I wish I could say that the impact has been radical.

I wish that I could say that it has been completely transformational.

But that would be wishing I was perfect.

I secretly had expectations that giving up alcohol would be, like, I don’t know, completely game changing.

“When Your Friends Start to Bore You” Book Winners.

My last blog was what it means when your friends start bore you. One of the most powerful resources I have around this is Martha Beck’s  “elevator” analogy.

I love the analogy so much, in fact I LOVE the book that it came from so much, I bought extra copies to give away.

All that was required was someone to comment and then you would go in the draw to win one.

I closed my eyes and pointed at the computer screen of names and the 2 names came up.

I have emailed both of the winners and I am super pleased to say, that the books are on their way to the lucky folks.

Given I like it so much, it is highly likely that I will be gifting others in the future. It is such fun giving stuff I love away!

If you think you might like to be in with a chance to win a thing or two, follow my blog so you don’t miss the opportunities.

Until next time, have a beautiful weekend.

Big love
